WHEW! Man, it has been a long time since I’ve done a few things: run longer than 20 minutes at a time, run outdoors, enjoyed running, and I’m definitely feeling the love today! I decided to try a new thing today where I would warm up inside and then start running as soon as I got outside. It always bothered me that the distance timer would go off for my 5k, but I hadn’t actually run the full 5k. It made me doubt that I could even do it at all. Even when I was running over 4 miles doing Bridge to 10k, I doubted I could complete a 5k because there were intervals of walking throughout the run.
I finally took down the Christmas tree. We had company for the Superbowl and decided to avoid being mocked openly by our friends and peers. It was time for it to go anyway. I got a little sad taking it down, only because my mom did such a nice job on the decorations and such. But I’m very excited to add to it next year and forever after until we get a new one. Oh my god I’m so cold. I was sweating this morning on the way to work, and now I’m freezing. Incidentally, my sweatfest had nothing to do with the weather. Let me explain… To get into my office I need to have my badge. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, I have to get to work super early in order to get in as many hours as I can since I have class from 2 – 4:45. If you forget your badge, the person at the front desk can let you in and you can get a one day made, but there’s no one at the front desk until around 8 AM. Needless to say, on those days, I can’t forget my badge, or it does me no good to get there obscenely early. Well I was ready to go at 6:05, but then I couldn’t find it. I. Looked. Everywhere. I think an appropriate way to start out this blog is to let you know, I’m kind of obsessed with Gordon Ramsay. I prefer a BBC version to an American one, but I’ll take it any way I can get it.
