Fears and Things

I was terrified that my scale was inaccurate. As an obsessive compulsive weigh-er, this was an issue. And one I sought to remedy in a timely manner. So I took to Amazon and found the best rated scale for my price range and found the one above. And it was as I feared – not only was my other scale inaccurate (compared to this one), but I was also 4 – 5 pounds heavier than I thought I was. I’m not sure if that is a good or a bad thing. I put the weight into my weight tracker which meant I admitted a gain, but maybe I didn’t really gain you know? Maybe I was heavier all along and I actually have lost weight from the beginning but now I’m back on track I think. Plus it’s got a really wide foot pad and a backlit screen.

Last Week of Freedom

Yes, I found this on a grief counseling website.

Yes, I found this on a grief counseling website.

Here it is folks, my last week of freedom before I start orientation for my new (and first) job as a registered nurse! I’ve done well so far getting my workouts in, but I haven’t made studying a priority and I need to incorporate more of that starting today. I am so nervous/scared/excited/terrified/relieved to finally be working again after a long time of not bringing home my part of the income. We have a big massive orientation Monday – Wednesday of next week and then we break into our nursing pods I guess to get more unit specific orientation. At least that’s what we’ve been told.

I. Hate. The. Treadmill.

Seriously. I thought I could do it today. I was watching Revenge (my new favorite show), I didn’t have to wear any extra layers, my heel didn’t hurt, my legs didn’t hurt, I just can’t do it. I don’t know what mental block I have, but whatever it is it prevents me from running on the treadmill. Continue reading

Holy Breathless Batman

Evidence: dirty, gross hair

You guys. I did it. I worked out. And it was awkward. It’s like, we used to be friends, but we grew apart, and then we ran into each other at the mall and we did the weird ass-out hug and after the initial excitement died down we didn’t really have anything to talk about. So they went on to Hot Topic and I moved on to Finish Line to check out the kicks, maybe get a pretzel, and then tell Joel about it later. Continue reading

Real Quick

Went for a quick run on the treadmill this morning. Oh no! *GASP* The what?! That’s right, I said it, the treadmill. I couldn’t take it. I can’t stand the elliptical anymore. And the bike hurts my butt. I just needed to pound it out. And it felt GOOD. And I knew that I wouldn’t be doing my full bridge to 10k run, so I just ran for a couple of miles and then did some weights. Continue reading

My Return to the Treadmill

This didn’t happen. But it could have.

Wow, I haven’t posted since February. I’m a pretty terrible blogger. Well, this won’t be much of anything, but I will say that I did return triumphantly to the treadmill this morning. I was getting bored with the elliptical, even with the workouts I’ve been doing, but I couldn’t stomach it anymore. So my friend Cassie, who is training for a 5k, joined me on the treadmill, and we huffed it out. Continue reading
